“You deserve a space where you can feel understood, supported, and more connected to yourself.”

About Sonia

There are seasons of life when the way you have always coped no longer feels like enough. You may be overwhelmed by anxiety, feeling disconnected or depressed, carrying grief, navigating challenges in your relationships, adjusting to an unexpected change, or trying to support everyone around you while quietly becoming exhausted yourself.

I work with teens, adults, elder adults, and couples who need a place to slow down, make sense of what they are experiencing, and move toward healthier patterns. Therapy with me is an opportunity to better understand yourself, strengthen your relationships, recognize what you need, and develop ways of responding to life that feel more grounded and sustainable.

I bring warmth, curiosity, and compassion to our work together. We will pay attention not only to what feels difficult, but also to the strengths, values, and resilience you already carry.

My Approach

Emotional experiences do not exist only in our thoughts. Stress, grief, anxiety, conflict, and change can influence how we relate to ourselves, how we connect with others, and how we experience our bodies. I take a whole-person approach to therapy that makes room for each of these pieces.

My work draws from Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) skills, Motivational Interviewing, mindfulness, Narrative Therapy, and somatic approaches. Depending on what brings you to therapy, our work might include identifying patterns, developing coping and emotional regulation skills, strengthening communication, exploring your values, becoming more aware of your body's responses to stress, or finding new ways to approach difficult circumstances.

Therapy is collaborative and individualized. Rather than expecting you to fit a particular method, I draw from different approaches to support your needs, experiences, relationships, and goals.

Working With Couples

Relationships can become strained when communication breaks down, stress builds, or partners begin feeling misunderstood, disconnected, or stuck in the same patterns.

I work with couples who want to strengthen communication, better understand one another, and create healthier ways of responding during conflict. Therapy can provide space to slow conversations down, identify the patterns underneath recurring disagreements, and explore how each partner's emotions, experiences, and needs influence the relationship.

Our work may focus on communication, emotional regulation, relationship stress, life transitions, rebuilding connection, and developing more intentional ways of navigating challenges together.

Working With Teens

Adolescence can bring intense emotions, changing relationships, increasing expectations, and questions about identity and independence, all while teens are still learning how to understand and manage what is happening internally.

I provide teens with a supportive place to talk about anxiety, depression, stress, self-esteem, emotional regulation, relationships, and significant changes in their lives. For teens who have difficulty putting their experiences into words, we can begin by noticing patterns, emotions, and physical responses and gradually build greater awareness of what they need.

Our work may include developing coping strategies, improving emotional regulation, strengthening communication, and helping teens become more confident in understanding themselves and navigating challenges.

Working With Adults

Sometimes life changes gradually. Other times, everything seems to change at once. A relationship shifts, responsibilities increase, work changes, health becomes a concern, or anxiety and depression begin affecting parts of life that once felt manageable.

I support adults experiencing anxiety, depression, stress, grief, relationship and communication difficulties, chronic pain, emotional adjustment, and major life transitions. Therapy can provide room to understand what is underneath the overwhelm rather than simply pushing through it.

Together, we can work on recognizing patterns, strengthening coping skills, reconnecting with your values and needs, and developing greater confidence in how you respond to difficult emotions and circumstances.
